ZINCALUME^®  steel is the brand name BlueScope Steel Limited applies to its premium metallic coated steel product.

Typical applications featuring ZINCALUME^®  steel include roofing, wall cladding, gutters and steel framing. The zinc/aluminium alloy coating on ZINCALUME^®  steel imparts corrosion resistance of up to four times the life of galvanised steel.

      

BlueScope Steel Limited introduced ZINCALUME^®  steel to the Australian domestic market in 1976. The significance of this new product cannot be understated.

Prior to it's introduction commercial roofing (in galvanised steel) in general had a life less than the expected life of the building. Hence re-roofing, or costly maintenance, had to be factored in to the economics of any industrial development.

With the introduction of ZINCALUME^® steel, roofing now had a life at least commensurate with building life and therefore delivered real savings to the building owner.

Since its introduction, ZINCALUME^®  steel has been consistently positioned as a quality, technically proven, corrosion resistant product from a company with a strong reputation for technology and product excellence.

As with COLORBOND^®  steel, BlueScope Steel has promoted ZINCALUME^®  steel over the years with particular focus on supporting ZINCALUME^®  steel through the supply channel. As a result the levels of brand awareness throughout the trade remain at exceedingly high levels.
